Staff Augmentation
Staff augmentation adds selected specialists to a client-led team for a defined capability or capacity need. The client normally owns priorities, day-to-day delivery, architecture and acceptance, while Renvric provides the agreed people and employment or supplier management. The model works when the client already has effective delivery governance and can integrate external specialists into its tools, standards and decisions.

How the model works
Renvric and the client define each role, required experience, allocation, location or time-zone expectations, start window and reporting line. The specialists join the client’s delivery rhythm and follow its authorised environments, engineering standards and escalation routes. Supplier and people management remain distinct from the client’s responsibility for the work.
Projects this model suits
An established team has a specific skill or temporary capacity gap.
The client retains product, architecture and delivery leadership.
Work can be assigned and accepted through existing governance and technical standards.
The organisation can onboard external specialists with appropriate access, context and supervision.
When to choose another model
This model is a poor fit when the client expects the supplier to own an outcome without providing product and delivery leadership. It also cannot repair unclear priorities, weak architecture or missing release controls on its own. A dedicated team or project-based engagement may be more appropriate when responsibility needs to sit with Renvric.
Team structure
Roles can be added individually or as a small group, but each needs a concrete remit and accountable client lead. Selection should test relevant technical ability, communication and context, without implying unavailable certifications or sector history. The plan should cover onboarding, equipment, access, working hours, leave, substitution and offboarding.
Responsibilities
Client
Owns backlog, assignments, technical direction, daily coordination, acceptance and access to client systems.
Renvric
Provides agreed specialists, manages contractual performance, availability and replacement under the contract.
Shared
Reviews role fit, delivery constraints, security responsibilities, conduct and knowledge continuity.
Commercial basis
Charges usually reflect approved time or allocation by role and period. Terms should define rates, invoicing evidence, overtime, leave, minimum allocation, equipment, travel, notice and replacement. The agreement must also distinguish staff augmentation from employment and agency arrangements under applicable law; legal review is required for each contracting context.
Governance and reporting
Day-to-day work should use the client’s existing planning, review and engineering processes. A separate supplier review can cover role performance, availability, continuity, issues and capacity. Escalation must identify both the client delivery owner and the Renvric commercial or people owner.
Quality and acceptance
Specialists should follow the client’s definition of done, code review, testing, security, documentation and release controls. Renvric can help assess gaps, but the model does not silently transfer ownership of the client’s delivery system. Acceptance remains with the named client authority unless the contract states otherwise.
Priority and scope changes
New roles, changed allocations or materially different responsibilities require an updated role definition and commercial approval. A specialist should not become the unrecognised owner of a critical system merely because work accumulated around them.
Continuity and handover
Knowledge transfer should happen through shared work, documentation and review from the beginning. At exit, confirm work status, repositories, decisions, credentials, access revocation, equipment and any client information held outside authorised systems.
Common questions
When should we use staff augmentation?
Use it for a defined skill or capacity gap when the client already owns product, technical and delivery management.
Who manages augmented team members?
The client manages daily work and priorities. Renvric manages the supplier relationship and the responsibilities specified in the contract.
Can one specialist be replaced?
Replacement terms, notice, handover and availability should be stated in the agreement. Do not assume an identical replacement is immediately available.
How quickly can someone start?
Start time depends on role definition, selection, availability, contracting, checks and client onboarding. Confirm it for the specific request.
Can staff augmentation become a dedicated team?
Yes, if responsibility, governance, team shape and commercial terms are redesigned rather than merely relabelled.
