Cloud Consulting

Cloud consulting helps organisations make architecture, migration, security, operating model and cost decisions for cloud services. Renvric can assess the current estate, define a target state, prioritise workloads, design platform controls and guide implementation. Recommendations are based on application needs, data sensitivity, resilience, skills and total operating responsibility rather than a default provider or migration pattern.

When Cloud consulting is useful

Cloud adoption has expanded faster than governance, creating inconsistent accounts, access, networks and costs.

A migration target has been selected without enough understanding of application dependencies or operating change.

Teams need a reusable platform foundation instead of rebuilding security and deployment controls for every product.

Leaders need to decide which workloads to retain, retire, replace, rehost, replatform or redesign.

What the service can include

The final scope should state the deliverables, exclusions, dependencies, client inputs and acceptance method. Items described on this page are available components, not a promise that every component belongs in every engagement.

01

Cloud estate assessment

Applications, infrastructure, dependencies, risks, spend drivers and team capability.

02

Target architecture

Accounts, identity, networks, environments, security, observability and service patterns.

03

Migration roadmap

Workload disposition, waves, prerequisites, acceptance checks and rollback considerations.

04

Governance and cost controls

Policy, tagging, budgets, access, approved patterns and ownership.

05

Operating model

Platform responsibilities, support paths, incident response and knowledge transfer.

03

Projects this service suits

This service fits organisations planning a first cloud foundation, correcting an inconsistent estate, modernising applications or preparing a migration. It can also support architecture and governance decisions for a single important product. Implementation can follow as a separate cloud, DevOps or application engagement.

04

Scope boundaries

Consulting does not include cloud-provider charges, software licences, every workload migration or organisational adoption unless those items are scoped. A recommendation may identify application remediation that requires a separate engineering plan. Financial projections depend on stated usage and commercial assumptions and should not be presented as guaranteed savings.

Decisions to make before work begins

Which workloads and business outcomes determine the target state?

Which security, resilience, portability and cost principles govern choices?

Who owns provider contracts, platform operation, migration approval and cost review?

How Renvric approaches the work

Assess workloads and constraints

Collect evidence on dependencies, data, performance, resilience and operating cost.

Set decision principles

Agree how security, portability, managed services, skills and cost will be balanced.

Design the platform and roadmap

Define reusable controls and sequence workloads by value, readiness and risk.

Validate through implementation

Test the design with representative workloads and adjust before wider rollout.

07

Architecture and technology considerations

Recommendations may cover public cloud, private infrastructure or a hybrid model. A cloud foundation usually includes identity, account structure, network boundaries, secrets, logging, policy, backup, deployment and cost visibility. Managed services can reduce operational work, but lock-in, service limits and exit requirements should be considered against realistic needs.

08

Quality security and governance

Architecture reviews should test resilience, recovery, security, capacity, observability and operational ownership. Cost estimates need workload assumptions and should be updated with actual use. References to provider certifications do not establish that a client workload is compliant; configuration and operation still matter.

09

Engagement options

An assessment and roadmap works when decisions are still open. An architecture engagement can define a landing zone or workload pattern, while an implementation team can execute migration or platform work. Client security, finance and operations representatives should participate in the decisions that affect them.

Before work begins, both parties should confirm decision rights, delivery cadence, communication, access, dependencies, acceptance and the route for issues that fall outside the agreed scope.

10

Outcomes and evidence

Success means representative workloads operate on the approved foundation with the required security, resilience, observability and cost visibility. Migration progress should be measured by accepted workloads and operating readiness, not resources created. The client team should also be able to govern and support the platform without relying on undocumented project knowledge.

The engagement should define observable outcomes before delivery. Suitable measures depend on the service and may cover user task completion, release performance, service behaviour, data quality, operational effort or another agreed result. Renvric should publish a case study or metric here only when the baseline, method, period, source and client approval are documented.

Common questions

Choose against workload fit, existing capability, required services, security, commercial terms and operating model. A provider should not be selected from a generic feature comparison alone.

No. Some applications should be retained, replaced, retired or redesigned. The decision should reflect business value, risk, cost, dependencies and realistic operational benefit.

Estimates use workload, storage, transfer, availability, support and growth assumptions. Tagging, budgets and usage data are then needed to manage actual cost after deployment.

It is a governed foundation for accounts, identity, networks, logging, policy and shared services. Its scope should match the organisation rather than copy a reference design without adaptation.

Yes. The roadmap can lead into workload migration, application modernisation or platform implementation, subject to agreed scope and responsibilities.
