Oracle Consulting

Oracle consulting from Renvric answers the questions that come before a programme: should you adopt Fusion Cloud applications or NetSuite, retain and upgrade E-Business Suite, or fix the database estate you have? You receive a written assessment, fit-gap view, roadmap and architecture guidance that your leadership can challenge and act on.

What Oracle consulting is for

Consulting is the work done before money is committed to a build. It tests whether an Oracle product suits your processes, which edition or module scope is proportionate, and what must change in your organisation for it to work. The output is a set of decisions with reasons attached, written so that an audit committee or a new finance director can follow the logic later.

02

Questions an assessment answers

  • Which processes can run on the standard Oracle flows, and which need an extension, a different tool or a change in policy?
  • Does a single-instance Fusion Cloud design cover your legal entities, currencies and reporting calendars, or do local statutory needs complicate it?
  • Is NetSuite sufficient for the group's size and subsidiary structure, or will complexity outgrow it?
  • For E-Business Suite, which customisations are still used and what would each cost to retire or rebuild?
  • Which integrations carry the highest business risk if they fail on cut-over day?
  • Who inside the organisation must own each decision, and by when?
03

When consulting fits and when it does not

Consulting is worth buying when a decision is large, contested or poorly understood: a platform choice, a merger-driven consolidation, an upgrade-or-replace debate. It is rarely worth buying when the platform and scope are already settled and the real gap is delivery capacity. In that case, a scoped Oracle implementation or targeted staffing is the more honest recommendation, and Renvric will say so.

How the assessment runs

01

Landscape discovery

Interviews and document review covering applications, databases, integrations, interfaces, reports and ownership. The aim is a single picture of what exists.

02

Process fit-gap

Business processes are walked through against standard Oracle capability. Each gap is classed as accept, configure, extend, integrate or leave out.

03

Architecture and data review

Integration patterns, identity and security-role design, data quality, volumes and migration approach, including what historical data genuinely needs to move.

04

Licensing and edition guidance

Which modules and editions the scope appears to require, framed as questions to confirm with the vendor. Renvric does not quote prices or licence terms; confirm current terms with Oracle directly.

05

Roadmap and governance

Sequenced phases, decision owners, dependency map and a proposed steering rhythm.

05

What you receive

  • A current-state landscape map with owners and known issues.
  • A fit-gap register that lists every requirement and its treatment.
  • A target architecture, including integration approach and security model.
  • A phased roadmap with entry and exit criteria for each phase.
  • A risk register covering data, people, timing and vendor dependencies.
  • A decision log recording each option considered and why it was chosen or rejected.
06

Trade-offs we make visible

Most consulting value sits in trade-offs. Adopting standard process lowers upgrade friction but may mean retraining a team. A single global instance simplifies reporting but can stretch local statutory requirements. Keeping E-Business Suite longer defers disruption but extends the cost of ageing custom code and scarce skills. Hosting a database on OCI changes operational responsibilities rather than removing them. We show each option, its costs and its dependencies, and let you choose.

07

An example engagement

For example, a services group with three acquired subsidiaries might ask whether to consolidate onto Fusion Cloud ERP or place each on NetSuite. An assessment would compare how each option handles intercompany transactions, local tax and the group's consolidation process, then recommend a sequence, perhaps starting with the subsidiary whose systems are weakest.

Common questions

It covers landscape discovery, process fit-gap, architecture and security review, data and integration assessment, edition and licensing questions to confirm with the vendor, a phased roadmap and governance proposal. The scope is agreed in writing at the outset and can be narrowed to a single decision, such as an upgrade-or-replace choice.

We walk your real processes against standard Oracle capability and record each gap with a proposed treatment: accept, configure, extend, integrate or drop. Fit is judged on how much of your process runs unchanged, how many extensions would be needed, and whether your organisation can make the process decisions required.

You receive a landscape map, fit-gap register, target architecture, phased roadmap, risk register and decision log. These are written documents you own and can use with any implementation partner, including another supplier. We also present the findings to your stakeholders so questions are answered in person.

The main drivers are the number of legal entities and systems in scope, how many business processes need walking through, the quality of existing documentation, how many stakeholders must be consulted, and whether data and integration review is included. A short discovery usually allows a scoped estimate to be written.

Yes, but it does not have to. The deliverables are designed to stand alone. If you choose Renvric for the next phase, the fit-gap register and roadmap become the starting scope. If you prefer another supplier, you can hand them the same documents.

Next step

Starting a consulting engagement

01

A typical first two to four weeks involve stakeholder interviews, document and system access, and early working sessions on the hardest processes. It helps to prepare current process maps, an application inventory, recent audit findings, and a list of known pain points. Related guidance is on the main Oracle services overview and the Enterprise Platforms overview.
