Mendix Services
Renvric helps organisations plan, build, staff and look after applications on Mendix, the low-code platform built around Studio Pro, visual domain models and microflows. The focus is on governance that keeps low-code fast without letting it sprawl, and on honest advice about when Mendix is the wrong tool.

What Renvric does on Mendix
Mendix is a low-code platform in which developers model data and logic visually in Studio Pro and deploy to the Mendix runtime. Renvric works across the lifecycle: deciding whether Mendix suits a use case, designing the application and its governance, building and integrating it, supplying experienced people to extend a team, and supporting or migrating systems that already exist.
Our starting point is the outcome the business needs, written down with acceptance criteria before anything is modelled. Low-code makes it easy to build quickly, which is exactly why scope and ownership need to be explicit early.
Where Mendix tends to fit
- Workflow-heavy internal applications that replace spreadsheets, email approvals or ageing desktop tools.
- Customer or partner portals that need forms, role-based access and a clear audit trail over structured data.
- Applications that sit in front of several back-end systems and need a coherent user experience over their APIs.
- Digitised processes where requirements will change often and the business wants to see working software every few weeks.
- Mobile and tablet applications for field staff, built as responsive or native-capable front ends from the same model.
- Organisations that want a managed way for professional developers and business-aligned builders to work in one governed environment.
Where it is the wrong choice
Mendix is not the natural home for a system of record that already has a mature packaged product, such as core ERP, nor for heavy computation, highly bespoke interface design, or products you intend to sell as your own software on a commodity cost base. Licensing is also a real consideration for applications with very large user populations, so confirm current terms with the vendor before committing.
The platform concepts that shape good design
Domain model
Entities, attributes and associations define the data and drive generated persistence. A clean domain model is the single biggest predictor of a maintainable application.
Microflows and nanoflows
Visual logic that runs on the server or in the client. Disciplined naming, small units and error handling keep them readable as they grow.
Marketplace modules
Reusable components and connectors that save time but need review, version tracking and an owner.
Java actions and pluggable widgets
The extension points for what visual modelling cannot express. They are powerful and should be used sparingly and tested properly.
Runtime and deployment
Applications can be deployed to Mendix-managed or other supported environments. Confirm current options and terms with the vendor.
Share the outcome you need and Renvric will recommend the smallest useful next step.
Three ways in, and how they differ
Implementation
Delivery of a defined application or programme, from discovery through hypercare. See Mendix implementation.
Staffing
Developers, architects and testers who join your team and work under your direction. See Mendix staffing.
Support and migration
Stabilising, upgrading or re-platforming existing Mendix systems, covered within the implementation and staffing options.
Risks we plan for
- Sprawl: many small applications with no owner, shared modules or common standards.
- A domain model designed screen by screen rather than around the business, which later forces costly refactoring.
- Performance problems from retrieving large object sets or chaining database calls inside loops.
- Integration assumptions that are never tested against the real behaviour of the other system.
- Heavy dependence on unreviewed Marketplace modules or custom Java that nobody on the team understands.
- Delivery that outpaces testing, leaving regressions to be found by users.
A worked scenario
Consider a regional insurer whose claims intake runs on shared mailboxes and spreadsheets. A short consulting phase could confirm that a Mendix intake application with a case-style workflow fits, while the policy system stays untouched behind an API. Implementation would then deliver one claim type first, with the domain model and roles reviewed before more types are added.
Choosing between Mendix and other platforms
Mendix competes with, and often complements, other options in the market. A packaged ERP or CRM is usually better where the process is standard; a process-automation or case-management product may suit a narrower need. Our Enterprise Platforms overview sets out how we think about those trade-offs, and we will say plainly if another route is better.

Common questions
What Mendix services does Renvric provide?
Renvric offers Mendix consulting (fit, architecture, governance and roadmap), implementation (building and integrating applications), staffing (developers, architects and testers working in your team) and support or migration for existing systems. You can use one service alone or combine them, and each has its own written scope and acceptance criteria.
How do we decide between Mendix and other platforms?
Start with the process and the data. Standard processes are usually better served by a packaged product; workflow-heavy, changeable or integration-led needs often suit low-code. Also weigh licensing model, team skills, expected user numbers and long-term ownership. A short consulting assessment can compare options against your criteria and record the reasoning.
Can Renvric support an existing Mendix system?
Yes, in principle. We would typically begin with a review of the domain model, microflows, Marketplace dependencies, performance and test coverage, then agree what to stabilise, refactor or upgrade first. Access to the source project and the deployment environment is needed, and the review produces a prioritised plan before any changes are made.
How is Mendix work staffed?
People are matched to the roles you need, such as Mendix developers, solution architects and testers, and assessed against the practical skills of the role, including a modelling exercise and a conversation about design choices. You direct the work day to day, or we run the team for a defined scope, depending on the model you choose.
How does a Mendix engagement start?
Usually with a short conversation about the outcome you want, followed by a discovery or assessment period of a few weeks that produces a scoped proposal. Bring the process description, any existing screens or spreadsheets, a list of systems it must connect to, and the names of the people who will own it.
A project-based engagement is often the clearest start: one defined application, written scope and acceptance criteria, and visible decisions at each step. A dedicated team or staff augmentation suits ongoing roadmaps. Mendix is a trademark of its owner. Renvric is an independent services provider and is not endorsed by or affiliated with the vendor.
